Holiday CD Raises Money For LA Kids in Need

Pacific Palisades-based organization, the Everychild Foundation, says all proceeds will fund projects to help underprivileged children.

Randy Newman once crooned, "I love LA." This holiday season, music industry big shots like Newman, David Crosby, Lisa Loeb and Zooey Deschanel are singing to benefit less fortunate kids in Los Angeles.

Pacific Palisades-based organization, the Everychild Foundation, is selling the CD, entitled Everychild Within Us, on their website for $12. The organization says all the proceeds from the album will fund projects for underprivileged children.

Not only does the CD include more big names, like Kenny Loggins and Burt Bacharach, it also features voices of kids who call the streets of LA home.

"It is with great pleasure that I support the good work that the Everychild Foundation does helping children in need," said Crosby in a press release.

“Some of America's most legendary musicians have come together to make a difference for children in crisis right here in the United States,” said Palisadian Jacqueline Caster in a press release. Caster is the founder and president of the Everychild Foundation. "All proceeds from this remarkable compilation album will support the work of the Everychild Foundation which works to make these dreams a reality by funding innovative new projects to assist children suffering from disease, disability, abuse, neglect or poverty.”

The Everychild Foundation is run by a group of Westside women who work to raise money and award one nonprofit organization up to $1 million towards a "dream project" each year, states the organization's website. According to a press release, those projects include a "universally accessible playground on the grounds of an orthopedic hospital" and a program that sends staff to young residents of slum housing who have fallen ill due to their living conditions.
