WIth all due respect to the restauranteur, Monsieur Giraud, it should not be suggested to go for the…Read More WiFi and to "sit and read and write." That is not what this restaurant, or any restaurant is there for. With the exemplary dishes on offer at Maison Giraud, one should dine the French way -- put away the cell phones and the computers and enjoy one's meal and, if with friends, then good conversation. People should know how "lovely" the restaurant is in terms of ambiance and the quality of the cuisine. If you, or anyone, is looking for a place to hang out and get free WiFi, go to Starbucks. Seriously. Maison Giraud is a small establishment here in the Palisades and thank heavens it's here. Don't take up table space if you're not going to have a proper meal.
I understand but given that it's now my favorite breakfast--light not heavy--in the Palisades and…Read More it's just a LOVELY place to sit and read and write, I felt more people should know how truly lovely it is.
The raspberry Danish is to die for. I want it once a week now!
I also do know people on Yelp who have liked it at dinner. And Melisse is insanely pricey. French isn't as big in WLA as it is in NYC, particularly the UES where there are four in a 12-block radius (Bistro Chat Noir, Mon Petit Cafe, Quatorze Bis and the neighborhood, old person (not being mean, just accurately describing the clientele) Sel y Poivre
if you're in the city, the prix-fixe at dinner--29 for appetizer, entree and dessert--is the deal of the UES. The salmon in a lighter beurre blanc is my favorite and they even deliver, which is great as it's easy to pick up a cold in the city. (I rarely get sick in LA but in NYC always knocked out 3 days). Profiteroles fabulous and the pate good as well.
Not sure. There's not always an immediate answer to helicopters circling. Did anyone else hear or…Read More see this? How long did it last? Was it just 1 copter or many police units?
