American Legion Post 283 Installs Pali Patrol CEO as New Commander

American Legion Post 283 in Pacific Palisades swore in Gates Security CEO Scott Wagenseller on Tuesday, June 25 as their new 2013-2014 commander.

The next day, approximately two dozen members from Post 283 went to Palm Springs for the state convention.

With three million members in 14,000 posts around the world, the American Legion has been instrumental in establishing the Veterans Administration, GI Bill of Rights and college funding for veterans, to name a few of the orgniazations accomplishments since 1919.

Post 283 in Pacific Palisades, with its 600 members, is a strong supporter of regional veterans centers and state veteran homes. In keeping with the four pillars of the American Legion, the post donates to youth and community organizations as well.

Gates Security, also known as Palisades Patrol, is a full service security company providing prevention, detection and intervention services. Many of Wagenseller's officers have received training from police academies and his company interfaces frequently with the Los Angeles Police Department.
