Pacific Palisades Fourth of July Parade Goes Hollywood

The world premier of "Palisades Parade" is June 21 at Pali High.

A Palisadian's two-year labor of love in post production of a documentary called Palisades Parade just finished, and its world premier airs Friday, June 21 at Pali High at 7 p.m.

Native filmmaker Sarah Kelly set out to capture the town’s Fourth of July celebration in a documentary film, following the townspeople of Pacific Palisades as they celebrate their country and their town with an annual race, house parties, the famous parade, more parties and finally fireworks, all the while exploring the characters and character of the community that manages to exist within the city of Los Angeles.

It's a lot of laughs, a few tears and a feeling of coming home, according to Pacific Palisades Americanism Parade Association (PAPA). Mostly though, Palisades Parade is a true slice of Americana and small-town magic.

Kelly has offered to donate 100 percent of the proceeds from the premiere to the PAPA. Tickets for the premiere are $10, and are available exclusively at PAPA’s website, www.palisadesparade.org.
