Palisadian Named Honorary Chairperson of Women's Charity Golf Tourney in Indy

Alice Hanks' husband Sam won the 1957 Indianapolis 500.

The wife of the 1957 Indianapolis 500 champion Sam Hanks was named the honorary chairperson of the United States Auto Club's 18th Annual Women's Charity Gold Tournament, according to WhoWon.com.

Alice Hanks is a native of Pacific Palisades.

The tourney, sponsored by Reed Financial, Raymond James and the Tony Stewart Foundation, benefits the USAC Benevolent Foundation, which provides financial assistance to injured or needy auto racing participants and their families who have ties to the United States Auto Club or Indy Car.
