Memoir Writing Workshop: Postcards From Your Past

EVENT IS CURRENTLY FULL! CALL 310-454-4063 TO ADD YOUR NAME TO THE WAITING LIST.

Postcards from Your Past: A Memoir-Writing Workshop. Would you like to jot down bits and pieces of your life story? Would you like to share your memories with the world, or maybe just friends and family?  Are you afraid you don’t have the moxie or the talent---but have you secretly always longed to tell your story? Postcards from the Past is for you!  Come join us as we capture little snapshots of moments in our lives.  Write about your first date!  Your first time behind the wheel of a car! Who taught you to drive?  Your Dad? What was he like?  What was life like in the afternoons after school before there was Nintendo DS, the Internet, cell phones, DVDs, plasma screen TVs with 500 channels? What did you DO all day?  Don’t you want to tell someone? Who knows where your Postcards will lead?  Perhaps you will turn them into a full-fledged memoir, perhaps we shall weave them together into a small theater piece, performed by real actors, to which you can invite your friends and family.  Perhaps it will just be a lovely way to spend Sunday afternoons with fellow travelers on the journey. Join us every Sunday from March 6th through April 10th, 3-5 PM, when Barbara Edelman, MFA from Sarah Lawrence College, will help us bring the past into the present! Tuition fee for the six week session is $90. The only required paperback (not included in the tuition fee) is Natalie Goldberg’s Old Friend From Far Away--The Practice of Writing Memoir.
