Water Restored after Hydrant Sheared in Palisades Highlands

No injuries reported during the incident.

A fire hydrant was sheared in the 500 block of Palisades Drive in Pacific Palisades Tuesday afternoon. According to residents, water power was turned off as crews worked on the hydrant.

As of 5 p.m., water has been restored to several households in the Highlands.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said crews responded to the area around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a sheared hydrant and there was a flooding situation. No injuries were reported.

Humphrey said LAFD left at 1:52 p.m. when Los Angeles Department of Water and Power crews arrived and shut off water for the area in order to work on the hydrant.

Pali Patch users on Twitter and Facebook claim the hydrant was struck in a hit and run. Twitter user Tess K @Kaliegrl56 sent in the above image of the scene Tuesday afternoon.
