Pacific Palisades Police Blotter: Report Crimes Right Away, Says LAPD

There were a number of reported burglaries in this week's crime roundup. The LAPD is encouraging Palisadians to call police immediately when witnessing a crime.

The following crimes were reported between Oct. 23-Nov. 7. The information was provided by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Burglary

16000 block of Miami Way

  • When: Oct. 23 at 3 p.m.
  • What happened: A male suspect distracted the victim while the second suspect took money from the victim's desk. The male suspect was described by police as a 40-year-old Indian man with black hair, brown eyes, 5'8" tall and weighed 150 pounds. The female suspect was described by police as a 50- to 60-year-old Indian woman with black hair, brown eyes, 5'5" tall and weighed 190 pounds.

600 block of Erskine Dr.

  • When: Oct. 24 between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect entered the victim’s home through an open door and took an iPhone.

16100 block of Northfield St.

  • When: Oct. 24 between 3:45 p.m. and 5 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect entered the victim’s home through an unlocked window and took money and watches.

600 block of Via Santa Ynez

  • When: Oct. 28 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect removed several screens from the victim’s home but was unable to enter.

800 block of Galloway St.

  • When: Oct. 28 between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect entered the victim’s home through an unlocked door and took a game system, laptop computers, cellphone and jewelry.

800 block of Jacon Way

  • When: Oct. 28 at 11:25 a.m.
  • What happened: The suspect entered the victim’s backyard and removed screens from windows. The suspect left the backyard without entering the home. The suspect was described by police as a 24- to 28-year-old black man with black hair, dark eyes, 6’2” tall and weighed 225 pounds.

Senior Lead Officer Michael Moore said that a neighbor witnessed the suspect enter the backyard, so the neighbor called ACS security company instead of police. He said the call should have gone to 911 so that police could make an official report for the attempted burglary.

"All crimes should be reported as soon as possible," said Moore.

14600 block of Bestor Blvd.

  • When: Oct. 30 at 4 a.m.
  • What happened: The suspects cut the glass on the victim’s garage door to enter and took bicycles. The victim, who was alerted by an alarm activated during the incident, yelled at the suspects causing them to flee the area.

200 block of Amalfi Dr.

  • When: Between Nov. 6 at 12 p.m. and Nov. 7 at 7 a.m.
  • What happened: The suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and used the garage remote to open the garage door. The suspect then took the victim’s bicycle from the garage.

 

Burglary/Theft From Vehicle

100 block of Ocean Way

  • When: Between Oct. 27 at 4 p.m. and Oct. 28 at 6:30 a.m.
  • What happened: The suspect smashed a window on the victim’s vehicle and took the victim’s backpack.

200 block of Toyopa Dr.

  • When: Between Oct. 27 at 10 p.m. and Oct. 28 at 8 a.m.
  • What happened: The suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and took an iPod, purse and art supplies.

14800 block of Drummond St.

  • When: Between Nov. 1 at 4 p.m. and Nov. 2 at 7:35 a.m.
  • What happened: The suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and took money.

Temescal Canyon Road at Pacific Coast Highway

  • When: Nov. 3 between 3:15 p.m. and 6 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and took golf clubs and glasses.

 

Vandalism

800 block of Haverford Ave.

  • When: Oct. 18 at 5 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect damaged doors on the victim’s property.

Temescal Canyon Road at Pacific Coast Highway

  • When: Nov. 1 at 12:30 a.m.
  • What happened: The suspect punched and damaged the side-view mirror on the victim’s vehicle. Police described the suspect as a 28- to 30-year-old white man with brown eyes, was 5'8" tall and weighed 175 pounds.

1100 block of Corsica Dr.

  • When: Between Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. and Nov. 5 at 9:30 a.m.
  • What happened: The suspect slashed a tire on the victim’s vehicle.

 

Arrest/Citations

600 block of Toyopa Dr.

  • When: Nov. 3 at 5:35 a.m.
  • What happened: A 26-year-old man was arrested for receiving stolen property after being detained as a possible Burglary Theft From Vehicle suspect.

 

Other Crimes

15300 block of Sunset Blvd.

  • When: Oct. 26 between 1:20 p.m. and 2:10 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect took the victim’s power cord from the victim’s unattended computer.

900 block of Haverford Ave.

  • When: Nov. 4 between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect took the victim’s patio furniture from the victim’s front porch.
