Man Found Dead in Gas Station Restroom

Body found at the Pacific West Unocal station at PCH and Sunset in Pacific Palisades. No violence or crime is suspected.

Police removed a deceased man, who appeared to be a transient, found in a gas station restroom in Pacific Palisades Saturday afternoon. Palisades Patrol reports the discovery was made at 4:15 p.m. at the Pacific West Unocal station at Sunset Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway.

Pali Patrol officers forced their way into the restroom after the station clerk noted water and blood seeping from under the door, according to CEO Scott Wagenseller. No violence or crime was suspected, he noted, and it appeared the man may have fallen and cut his head.

Three Pali Patrol officers remained on scene until Los Angeles police and the county coroner's office arrived.
