LAPD Patrolling Murphy Ranch for Taggers, Vandals

Police say the former Nazi compound has become an attraction to the wrong crowd.

There's been a dramatic increase of Neo-Nazi's and graffiti taggers hanging out at the popular Murphy Ranch in Rustic Canyon, according to Los Angeles police.

Brentwood LAPD Senior Lead Officer Maria Gray and Pacific Palisades LAPD Senior Lead Officer Michael Moore said the former alleged Nazi stronghold off Sullivan Fire Road has become problematic recently for vandals and graffiti taggers.

"It's a draw for the wrong types of people," Gray told the Brentwood Community Council on June 4. "It was a Neo-Nazi camp where [Adolf] Hitler would have headed his west coast stronghold."

Gray said she's working with residents in the Riviera area and Officer Moore to police the area.
