Installation Ceremony to Be Held for LAUSD Board Member Steve Zimmer

Los Angeles Unified School District Board Member Steve Zimmer plans to celebrate the accomplishments of District 4.

Friends,

My first term has been a journey of a lifetime. I have been blessed to serve the LAUSD's Board District 4 students, families and school communities for almost 4 years. Throughout the term the District has weathered the worst economic crisis ever to face a public education system. And yet, we have seen landmark gains in student achievement and ground-breaking labor agreements. Students have moved off of year-round calendars and we have begun to fully implement the A-G College Access For All initiative. This March my vision for collaborative transformation of public education in Los Angeles was re-affirmed by District 4 voters despite a torrent of well-funded lies and distortion about me and our record of progressive change.

I thank each of you who have supported our children and their schools these last four years. I also thank all of you who have followed this journey through these communications. We have come remarkable ways together on behalf of all of our students. We have a long way to go as we strive for 100% graduation for all of Los Angeles' kids.

I want to celebrate our accomplishments and the share my dreams and vision for our next four years fighting together for the education our kids deserve. Please join me next Wednesday (June 26th) for a community installation and celebration at Hollywood High School. I look forward to us gathering together.

Steve Zimmer
LAUSD 4 Board Member
