CPA Estimates Her Lifetime Cost to Treat Fibromyalgia/CFS at Over $2 Million

The immeasurable price of fibromyalgia for treatment, medical bills, not to mention the toll it takes on the souls & spirits of our spouses and children.

The price of fibromyalgia is immeasurable in so many ways. People fall victim to those who are making billions of dollars a year because we are desperately searching for something, anything that will help the pain.

Big pharmaceutical companies have discovered how lucrative chronic illnesses are. Now everyone knows fibromyalgia is real because Lyrica, Cymbalta, and Savella are advertised. They have side effects such as weight gain, fatigue, hair loss, headaches and thinning of your bones… If you live in Europe these drugs may not even be available because their performance didn’t outweigh their risks in studies.

None of these expensive compounds work, they simply change the way your brain perceives your symptoms. Usually their side effects require other medications to counteract them.

A 25 year-old woman I know, a CPA who healed the same way I did from Fibromyalgia/CFS, calculated that she would have paid $2,277,756 in medical bills if she lived to age 80, having had fibromyalgia since she was 15- without having health insurance. With health insurance her cost would be $563,581. She recently healed (like me) so her costs for medical expenses now are ZERO.

Let’s acknowledge the tremendlus toll this disease has on our loved ones.

The price of fibromyalgia is immeasurable in so many ways.  Personally, it's been 5 months since I've had to take 6 prescription medications, see a psycho-therapist, my rheumatologist (monthly). It's been 5 months since I've had to have my kidneys and liver tested due to the amount of medications I was consuming 4x a day, 5 months that I've not been depressed, 5 months since my kids got the mom they deserve, and 5 months since I could hold my husband's hand.

For the last 5 months of awe that I am able to do the all the things and more that this disease took from me, like my hobbies! Now I RUN after the guy in the Village who is giving me a parking ticket (for no good reason), and even yell at him (true story!) because there was stil 7 seconds left on my meter in front of Ralph's on Sunset....You Palisadians ALL know what I'm talkin' about!

Tonight I get to sit comfortably in a hard chair and watch my daughter play Daddy Warbucks in Fancy Feet's production of ANNIE at Pali High (my alma mater). Yipee!! Life is good for the Diamonds (and husband Peter Rustin) of Pacific Palisades.
