What's Open and Closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Pacific Palisades observes the federal holiday on the third Monday in January each year.

Government: City, county, state and federal offices, libraries, courts and animal shelters are closed. 

Schools: Schools are closed.

Mail: The U.S. Postal Service will not deliver mail.

Banks: Banks and financial markets are closed.

Public transportation: Bus and subway services in Los Angeles run on a regular schedule and Metrolink trains run.

Trash: Trash pickup will be on a regular schedule in Los Angeles.
