Getty Bridge Demolition Causes 405 Lane Closures

Lanes closest to the demolition site will be shut down.

A portion of the Getty Center Drive Bridge deck and barrier rail will be removed Wednesday and Thursday nights, causing lanes on the 405 Freeway to close, according to Metro.

Metro officials say partial demolition of the westside of the bridge is scheduled for Wednesday from 9 p.m.-6 a.m. The eastside of the bridge will be demolished during the same overnight hours Thursday.

The Getty Bridge is the freeway underpass at Sepulveda Boulevard and Getty Center Drive.

Freeway lanes closest to the demolition site will be closed during overnight work hours, according to Metro. In addition, officials say Sepulveda Boulevard just north and south of Getty Center Drive will be down to one lane in each direction.

According to Metro, the Getty Center will be open during regular business hours on Wednesday and Thursday.
