Pali Patch Poll: Does Pacific Palisades Need a Business Improvement District?

The idea of creating a special business zone with the city council was recently presented to the Pacific Palisades Community Council.

Susan Carroll, former president of Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce, recently asked the Pacific Palisades Community Council for support in obtaining more information on creating a business improvement district, otherwise known as a BID.

BID’s are geographically defined areas within the City of Los Angeles where services and programs are paid for through a special assessment which is charged to all members within the district.

Currently there are 38 BID’s in Los Angeles.  Possible activities of a BID include street cleaning and sidewalk maintenance, landscaping, security, promotion, sidewalk repair, tree trimming, holiday decorations and more.
