Digital Farmers Market Launches in Pacific Palisades

Each week Farmigo, who is partnering with Pearl Dragon, lets you personalize your own farm box at their online ordering page.

Connecting consumers directly to farmers interactively is the goal of the start-up digital farmers market Farmigo, who launches its host website in Pacific Palisades this week.

According to Regional Manager Kim Gerber, participants are encouraged to create an account and place their order at the Farmigo Pacific Palisades website by Monday at midnight. Farmigo has partnered with local restuarant Pearl Dragon for Wednesday pick-ups at their ally entrance between 3 and 5 p.m.

"Palisades is our first launch and then we’re looking at different sites around the Los Angeles area," she said. "We’re really looking to work in places where communities exist. Pacific Palisaldes really feels like its own community."

For those of you that can’t pick up during designated time, Gerber said they are also offering guests delivery of their farm boxes between 5 and 6 p.m. Wednesday with a $50 minimum take out order from Pearl Dragon.

Gerber said Pearl Dragon has a very local and sustainable mission statement that aligns with Famigo, so they reached out.

Farmigo had a vendor booth at the recent Village Fair promoting its launch in the Palisades and other L.A. County areas. Their online food network provides consumers with an easy way to subscribe to a local farm and get fresh food delivered to a convenient pick up location.

Some of the farms in central and southern California participating in the Farmigo Pacific Palisades market are Zuma Organic, DeyDey's Best Beef Ever, Community Seafood, Old Town Baking Company, Etheridge Organics and John Givens Farm.
