Gift Garden Antiques Robbed at Gunpoint

One person working in the antique store on Antioch Street in Pacific Palisades was bound and held while the suspect took jewelry and cash.

, in the 15000 block of Antioch Street in Pacific Palisades, was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday morning, according to the LAPD.

Security company Palisades Patrol responded to the scene. A Palisades Patrol employee said the suspect entered the antique store with a handgun, tied up one person and stole jewelry.

Store owner Susan Caroll said that she did not want to draw any more attention to the event by commenting further.

According to the LAPD, the suspect was described as a black male, wearing all-dark clothes, a black hat and carrying a handgun.

This is the first time in 30 years that the shop had been robbed.  Nonetheless, workers at neighboring businesses are concerned.

"We have warned the staff to exercise care, work in pairs and be very vigilant," said a worker at nearby Kier Designs, who asked not to be named.
