Hiker Transported Via Helicopter from Parca Mesa Overlook

The man, 55, experiences chest pains and is flown to UCLA Medical Center in serious condition.

A 55-year-old hiker fell ill Saturday near the Parca Mesa overlook and had to be hoisted to safety and flown to a hospital, a city fire official said.

The distressed hiker was reported at 12:46 p.m. in the 300 block of North Los Liones Drive, according to Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The man was suffering from chest pain. He was taken via helicopter to UCLA Medical Center in serious condition, Scott said.
