The bicyclist, who suffered severe injuries from the crash with a Subaru Forester, rode his bike across the crosswalk from Will Rogers State Beach.

A bicyclist who collided with a Subaru Forester on the Pacific Coast Highway suffered severe injuries but is deemed at fault for the collision, according to the Los Angeles Police Department West Traffic Division.

The bicyclist, described as a white man approximately 30 years old, was pedeling eastbound across the PCH at 7:51 a.m. in the crosswalk that morning from Will Rogers State Beach when the Subaru struck him while traveling northbound, according to Officer Larry Johnson. "Bicyclists can't ride in the crosswalk," he said. "You have to walk it. As soon as you start pedeling you're basically considered a vehicle and have to consider the rules of the road."

Neither the name is a bicyclist, nor his listed condition at the hospital were released.
