A driver of a dark sedan fled the scene of a collision with a motorcycle Wednesday night in Pacific Palisades, which reportedly burst into flames, according to Palisades Patrol. The rider was not injured.

Pali Patrol CEO Scott Wagenseller said the accident occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m. at the intersection of Amalfi Drive and Sunset Boulevard.

He said the motorcyclist was riding along Sunset Wednesday night when the rider was "run off the road" by the sedan, and the motorcycle burst into flames after hitting a tree in the front yard of a home on Sunset Boulevard.

Wagenseller said a Pali Patrol officer was first on scene and notified by the Los Angeles Fire Department, which arrived and quickly extinguished the flames burning the motorcycle and the tree.

Wagenseller added the Los Angeles Police Department responded, but did not take a report.

It's the second hit-and-run this week on Sunset Boulevard. A motorcyclist was struck by a pick-up truck in Brentwood on Monday.
