Craig Clough
Craig was raised in the Twin Cities and spent a great deal of his childhood on the hockey rink. He attended Columbia College in Chicago, where he earned a B.A. in film studies in 2003. He has worked at several newspapers as a sports and features writer, including the Daily Mining Gazette in Michigan and the Antelope Valley Press in Palmdale. Before coming to Patch, he worked at Internet Broadcasting Systems, which manages around 75 television news Web sites. There he edited national news and wrote features.
Beliefs At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable. This disclosure is not a license for you to inject your beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that your beliefs are on the record will cause you to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know. Politics * How would you describe your political beliefs? I am an independent who is fiscally conservative, socially liberal and believes in a strong foreign policy. *Are you registered with a certain party? I am not nor do I ever intend to be. *How religious would you consider yourself? (casual, observant, devout, non religious) I was raised as a Lutheran and attended a Lutheran elementary school where we had religion class every day. But in my adulthood I do not prescribe to any particular organized religion. *What do you think are the most important issues facing the community? I think urban development is the most important issue facing North Hollywood and Toluca Lake. With the NoHo Arts District, the area has completely transformed itself and its image over the last 15 years. But developments like the Universal City expansion bring up the question of how much development is too much. * Where do you stand on each of these issues? As long as the development is the type that the arts district has seen, it is hard to argue against.
