Aldersgate Retreat Center is a historic home that is available to rent out for retreats, reunions, special events,More meetings and workshops. The Mission Revival/Craftsman house was originally built in 1892 as a residence in downtown Los Angeles. It was moved to its present location in 1927, and came under the current ownership of the California-Pacific Conference of the United Methodist Church in the 1970's. The three-story house includes a living room, library, formal dining room, dining room, meeting room and bedrooms. Located next to the house is Buerge Chapel and Meditation Garden, also available for events. Overnight stays can accomodate 10-44 people, and special events can accommodate 75 people. Other amenities of the house include pianos, LCD projector, portable screen, televisions with DVD/VCR players and dry erase boards. Full meal service is available from an on-site chef. The center also has relationships with many vendors who provide services for special events.

Debbie Oliver, DVM, took over Blue Cross Pet Hospital in 1998. Regular and emergency veterinarian services are availableMore for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rodents and potbellied pigs. House calls, including at-home euthanasia are also available. Non-traditional treatments, such as herbal medicine and acupuncture, are available here. Additionally, the hospital provides grooming and boarding services. As part of the Pacific Palisades community, Dr. Oliver invites local schools, scout troops and YMCA groups to visit the hospital on field trips. Many members of the community volunteer their time at the hospital. For homeless animals, the Blue Cross Pet Hospital created the Sammy Fund to take care of abandoned pets and find them a new home.
