Semi-Pro Mens Soccer Team Comes to Pali

The Palisades has been home to the Pali Blues women's soccer team for a while now, but a men's team is slated to arrive this season.

Since 2008, "Stadium by the Sea" has been the playing field for the semi-professional women's soccer team, Pali Blues. This season, a semi-professional men's team will also take the field.

Federico Bianchi, head coach and general manager for the men's team, told Pali Patch that the team will be similar to the women's team since it will play all home games at Pali High. Bianchi is a Pali High graduate himself, so having the men's team play on his home turf is something he is very excited about.

"We feel that we can offer an environment where families can come to the field and enjoy watching good soccer and have a fun experience," Bianchi told Pali Patch.

There are two doubleheaders planned this season at Pali High. So, both the men's and women's teams will play on the same day, adding more competitive spirit and fun to the soccer experience, according to Bianchi.

Bianchi said the women's team has won two championships in the last four years. So, he is looking for great players to match that skill level. He held one round of tryouts on Jan. 28 and from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at Pali High.

If you wish to register for the Feb. 26 tryouts, you will be subject to a walk-up registration fee of $40. But, to make Pali Blues history, it might be money well spent.
