Palisades Hoops Players Named All-City

Donovan Johnson and Ashlie Bruner earn First Team honors.

This year's All-City basketball teams have been chosen and two players made the First Team.

For the boys, junior co-captain was the only Dolphin voted All-City. Johnson made the First Team, which was highlighted by Player of the Year Spencer Dinwiddie of Woodland Hills Taft.

Johnson was named Most Outstanding Player in the Western League after leading Palisades in scoring (15.9 points per game) and steals (2.9 per game).

Joining him on the First Team from the Western League were Landon Drew of Fairfax, Trevonne Williams and Joshua Wilson of Westchester and David Nwaba of University.

For the girls, Palisades junior point guard made the First Team, which was highlighted by co-MVPs Taylor Holeman of Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies and Rashanda Gray of Carson.

Bruner led the Dolphins to the City Division II championship and averaged 13.3 points, 6.3 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 3.6 steals per game. She was also a First Team All-Western League selection.

Joining Bruner on the All-City First Team from the Western League were senior guard Eu Shoushtari of LACES and sophomore guard Angelique McDaniel of Fairfax.

Making the All-City Second Team were Dolphins and , who were First Team All-Western League picks. Flyer, a senior forward and co-captain led Palisades with 2.5 blocks per game and Smith, a junior, led the Dolphins with 11.4 rebounds per game.

Two other girls from the Western League, Brittany Byrd and John'ea Thompson of Fairfax, made the All-City Second Team.
