The boys varsity lacrosse team took two wins last week. The team beat out Redondo Union High School 7-6 last Friday and won against Birmingham Charter High School 16-3 last Saturday.
Pali High Varsity Lacrosse Coach Scott Hylen told Patch the team pulled a great play to take the single-point win against Redondo Union. He said it was down to the wire, with 21 seconds left in the game and Redondo Union had the ball.
"A great athletic play by Arash Ghafoorzadeh put the ball on the ground, defenseman Chris Groel picked up the loose ball and passed downfield to Ryan Angelich in Pali's offensive zone," said Hylen. "Angelich found Daniel Gurvis in the crease area, who shot and buried the ball in the upper right corner of the goal."
Hylen told Patch the team scored with two seconds left, which sealed the win against Redondo Union.
