Pali Blues Release 2013 Schedule

Home games happen at Palisades Charter High School's Stadium-by-the-Sea.

The Pali Blues kick off Western Conference action when they host the L.A. Strikers at Palisades Charter High School’s Stadium-by-the-Sea on May 18. The W-League announced the 2013 schedule, which will feature a total of 145 games for the regular season.

Games will begin a week earlier on Saturday, May 11.

This year, the Bay Area Breeze made a jump from the Women’s Premier Soccer League to the W-League and will be the newest member of the Western Conference. The conference will, however, move on without the Vancouver Whitecaps and Peninsula Co-Op (Victoria) Highlanders, who decided not to field W-League teams this year.

The Blues front office is eagarly awaits the start of the season and anticipates continued success on the field, as well as improvements to make the game day experience more enjoyable for Pali Blues supporters.

“We are very excited for the 2013 season because as with every season, the coaching staff is diligently working on putting together an exciting and very competitive team with dynamic and talented players,” said Mario Herrera, assistant general manager. “As the front office, our goal this season is to reconnect with the community. We want to raise the Pali Blues game atmosphere by implementing fun promotions and encouraging local residents to support the team and enjoy fun elite soccer games at the Stadium by the Sea. I am looking forward to a fun and successful season.”

The Blues are scheduled to play two games in May, including the home opener against the Strikers. The second match will be on the road against the Breed when they visize on Friday, May 31. The Blues will thereafter return to Southern California for an away match at Santa Clarita the following Sunday, June 2.

Pali will host the Colorado Rapids on June 6, and then the Seattle Sounders on June 9 before going on a long stretch of away games for the remainder of the month.

The Blues will return to Stadium by the Sea to host their final three matches of the regular season beginning with the Colorado Rush on July 5, and the Breeze two days later. They will close the season against the Santa Clarita Blue Heat on Sunday, July 14.
