Northern Trust Open is Back With a Buzz

According to the Los Angeles Times, players used to duck out of the tournament, annually held at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades.

Practice rounds for the Northern Trust Open began Tuesday at the in Pacific Palisades. According to the LA Times, players often used to duck out of the tournament. However, over the last few years, there has been somewhat of a revival for the Riviera.

There may be even more traffic at the course this year, thanks to Phil Mickelson's performance Pebble Beach, noted the LA Times. Mickelson won the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament this past weekend.

Although Tiger Woods will not be among the big names at the tournament, the likes of Ernie Els, Freddie Couples, Bubba Watson, Jim Furyk and, of course, Mickelson will take on the Riviera this week.
