According to Blakis' bio on the Westside Aquatics website, he has been coaching for 16 years. Blakis has worked with swimmers at University of California, Riverside, St. Monica's High School and the to name a few.
Upon nominating Blakis, Pali Patch reader Kelky Green Koffman wrote, "He is motivating the kids, teaches them to swim or play to their potential and seems to hire other coaches who have the same work ethic as he."
