5 Palisadians Earn Black Belts

Congratulations to five Pacific Palisades students of Gerry Blanck’s Martial Arts Center who recently received their black belt certificates from Japan

Each of these students have been training at the dojo since they were 3 or 4 years old.

The recipients are Ryan Zaid (9 ½) who attends Marquez Elementary School, Ridge Coughlin (12), Spencer Zaid (12), and Ethan Subel (13) who attend Paul Revere Middle School, and Devon Subel (16) who attends Palisades Charter High School.

For Ridge, Spencer andDevon, this was a great step forward as they earned their second degree Black Belts.

All of Gerry Blanck’s students are looking forward to Master Yamamoto, who is a 10th Degree Gold Belt and the Founder of Yoshukai Karate, visiting us this summer on July 13.
