Have you seen that little building "pop up" across the way from Canyon Charter School since the holidays?
Nick Korody, of Pacific Palisades, built a "pop-up library" as part of his architecture and urban studies at Vasser College in New York.
He built it over Christmas break from salvaged building materials, installed a small bench and bookshelves inside which holds a number of children and adult books. It's is part of his work at Vassar exploring community sharing through "popup" structures, available to all.
According to Korody, with budget-driven library closures, the structure gives incentive to get more books into the hands of all.
