Pali High bands are currently fundraising for instrument and uniform purchases.

The Palisades Charter High School Wind Ensemble and Concert Band both received unanimous superior scores. at the March 13 wind band festival at Santa Monica High School.

The student ensembles were adjudicated by a panel of three judges in performance, and one in sightreading. Music selection and musicality were named as strengths for both ensembles. According to Arwen Hernandez, Pali High band director, a superior rating is the highest possible rating ensembles can earn at festivals. The possible ratings are poor, fair, good, excellent and superior.

Kevin McKeown, director of bands at Santa Monica High School, Santa Monica College and UC Irvine, said that Hernandez and Yosuke Miyoshi, band director at Paul Revere Middle School, are setting the bar and representing the Westside with class and great expectations.
