Marquez School Receives $2K Donation for Edible Garden Project

Raw Inspiration, the non-profit organizer of the Palisades' Farmers Market, gave a presentation.

Students at Marquez Elementary School received a lesson on making the most of your edible garden on May 22 with a presentation on healthy lifestyles from Raw Inspiration, the non-profit organizer of Palisades' Farmer's Market.

The school received a $2,000 donation for the edible garden project from Raw Inspiration. Marquez School also received a visit from Elisa Hunziker, a former Marquez mom and 10-year cancer survivor, who believes passionately in the healing power of nutrition.

The students planted and learned about how to plant seeds in homemade biodegradable containers made from newspaper. Marquez students also did a taste challenge with kale along with raw ingredients, such as mango, banana, kale and lemon.
