Rosendahl Issues Statement Following Gov. Jerry Brown Cancer Diagnosis

The governor is receiving early radiotherapy for prostate cancer. It's his second bout with cancer since returning to office.

Los Angeles City Councilmember Bill Rosendahl issued the following statement today on news that California Governor Jerry Brown was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He's undergoing early radiation treatment.

For Brown, 74, it's his second bout with cancer since his return to office. His oncologist confirmed it's early stage localized prostate cancer, the prognosis is excellent and significant side effects are not expected, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"Take it from one cancer survivor — find a good medical team to treat your diagnosis and fill your world with love, support and good home cooked meals," Rosendahl said. "May you find the strength to deal with your diagnosis and never give up hope. My friend, you remain in my prayers."
