Power Outages Leaving Palisades Highlands Homes in the Dark

LADWP crews are still on scene assessing transformer failures.

Hundreds of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) customers in Palisades Highlands were affected by power outages Tuesday night into Wednesday, and crews are still on scene assessing a new issue with underground circuits.

LADWP spokesperson Terry Schneider said Wednesday that approximately 670 customers lost power Tuesday night in the 1500 block of Palisades Drive at 6:50 p.m. due to an underground cable relay failure.

"Crews worked all night," she said. "Power was restored by 5 a.m."

At 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Schneider said an additional three transformers failed in the same vicinity, leaving approximately 20 customers without power.

Crews are still on scene working to get power restored.

Patch will update this as more information comes available.

Not sure. There's not always an immediate answer to helicopters circling. Did anyone else hear orRead More see this? How long did it last? Was it just 1 copter or many police units?
