Poll: Could Solar Solve Pali's Power Demands?

There have been heated discussions about a second LADWP power station in the Palisades. Do you think we can solve the problem by getting "off the grid?"

Tuesday afternoon about a second power station in Pacific Palisades. According to the statement, the Palisades needs another station to keep up with customer demand.

Nichols stated that the department is in the very early stages of the process and that no location has been officially selected. However, since the LADWP owns land next to , many residents have strongly opposed the possibility of building the station so close the school.

There have been two community meetings regarding the station to date. was particularly heated, with many parents and kids voicing concerns over fire danger and possible health risks.

But, what if we could avoid building another station altogether?

Just this week, Pali Patch blogger Nancy Dolin wrote a post about the possibility of Pali going solar. She wrote about about Open Neighborhoods, a group that is working with the LADWP to find alternative solutions ... instead of overloading the grid.
