LAFD Emphasizes Safety While Clearing Brush

Los Angeles City Councilman Bill Rosendahl says the warning is important for fire-prone areas like Brentwood and Pacific Palisades.

Brush clearance safety tips will be provided to residents from the Los Angeles Fire Department following a Los Angeles City Council meeting Tuesday.

During the meeting, Captain Robert Knight noted the importance of safely clearing brush around LA-area homes.

"We have had historical fires that have been started by property owners actually performing brush clearance on their own property by not, actually, doing it safely," said Knight during an interview with Los Angeles City Councilman BIll Rosendahl.

Knight said property owners attempting to clear their own brush need to use the right equipment, always have a water source nearby and need to wear safety gear, such as gloves.

Not sure. There's not always an immediate answer to helicopters circling. Did anyone else hear orRead More see this? How long did it last? Was it just 1 copter or many police units?
