Happy Columbus Day: What's Open, What's Closed?

Columbus Day is not an official state holiday in California, which is why some offices are open and services are running, while others are not.

Confused about what's open and what's closed today? Even though it's a federal holiday, the state of California, along with Hawaii and Nevada, does not officially celebrate the holiday. Here's a list of what's open and what's closed in Los Angeles today.

Federal Offices: Closed

State Offices: Open

Los Angeles Courts: Closed

Los Angeles City Offices: Closed

Los Angeles County Offices: Closed

Post Offices: Closed.

Banks: Chase Bank and Wells Fargo will be open as will some credit unions. However, most other banks are closed. Check with your individual bank to be certain.

Los Angeles County Libraries: Closed.

LAUSD Schools: Open.

Metrolink: Operating on normal schedule.

Trash pickup: Operating on normal schedule.
