Councilman-Elect Mike Bonin Endorses Feuer for City Attorney

Feuer goes head-to-head with incumbent Carmen "Nuch" Trutanich in a May runoff in the race for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office.

City Attorney candidate Mike Feuer was endorsed Tuesday by Mike Bonin, the councilmember-elect from Los Angeles' 11th district.

Bonin recently won more than 60 percent of the vote in the city's highest-turnout district on March 5.

"Mike Feuer sets the gold standard for public service," Bonin said in a press release. "He is a man of tremendous intelligence, remarkable integrity, and incredible decency. I have known and worked with Mike for nearly 20 years, watching him deliver results and solve problems as a city councilmember and state assemblyman. His constituents love and respect him because he listens, collaborates, and gets things done."

Feuer praised Bonin's leadership in accepting the endorsement.

"Mike Bonin is a smart, creative, and hard-working leader who clearly is beloved by residents and community groups from Westchester to the Palisades," said Feuer.

Bonin joins the 11th district's current City Councilman Bill Rosendahl and former area City Councilwoman Ruth Galanter in supporting Feuer. Feuer earned over 50 percent of the vote in Council District 11 in the March 5 primary.

Feuer will go head-to-head with incumbent Carmen "Nuch" Trutanich in a May runoff in the race for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office. Feuer finished first in the four-candidate field in the city attorney race, but fell short of the 50 percent needed to claim the seat outright, while Trutanich made a strong enough showing to advance to the May 21 runoff.
