Small Grass Fire Put Out Near Getty Center

Los Angeles Fire Department says small fire is a reminder that fire season is here.

It may have only been a very small grass fire near the Getty Center and visible from the 405 Freeway, but Los Angele Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott said it is a potent reminder that fire season is here.

"We're entering brush fire season," Scott said, adding that residents need to make sure that brush surrounding their homes is cleared.

The fire, which was called in around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, was put out within 15 minutes of fire fighters arriving on the scene. The cause is "under active investigation," Scott said.
