A security guard at a medical marijuana clinic near Los Angeles International Airport shot and killed one of two robbery suspects today, a police spokeswoman said.

The fatal shooting on Century Boulevard near Concourse Way was reported about 12:15 p.m. outside Nature's Cure Inc., according to Los Angeles police Officer Liliana Preciado.

The dead man, whose name was withheld, was in his 30s, she said. He collapsed near a hotel.

"Two men entered the clinic and then opened fire on the security guard," Preciado said. "The guard returned fire and hit one of the men in the abdomen. He died at the scene."

The other suspect fled in a dark-colored 7 series BMW, she said. The suspect who got away was described as a black male in his early 30s, last seen in a brown cap, beige shirt and green pants, according to Preciado.

No information was made available about how much money or pot may have been taken.

The shooting was likely caught on video. It happened in a hotel-dotted area just east of the airport, and Century Boulevard was temporarily closed La Cienega Boulevard and Concourse Way.

The Beast = Obvious TROLL, is obvious. Medical Marijuana was legal from the time of its first discovery (1838-9) until the passage of the Food and Drug act etc., circa the 1920's-30's. Then RE-legalized in California (for Medical Purposes) in 1996. Check the California Constitution or Westlaw/Findlaw, if you have any doubts. Upheld subsequently by both Federal and State courts. Currently Legal for all purposes in Washington and Colorado, in addition to separate laws in both States for Medical use. Alcohol was similarly prohibited (and just as STUPIDLY, though arguably MORE justifiably) during the prohibition era of 1919-1930's. Funny how The Beast points out the "violence" associated with "Marijuana" (a term popularized by W.R. Hearst, as part of the racist effort to demonize the widely-understood -and accepted medicine, commonly referred to as Cannabis Sativa, at the time, even amongst know-nothings like The Beast), and yet fails to notice the Violence and thugs one finds down at the local* banks in Seal Beach. I wonder if he/she/it posts similar comments every time one of those gets robbed. And don't forget the Violence associated with hairdressers and salons (particularly in Seal Beach). Imagine the kinds of violence and criminality being supported by withdrawing a $20 down at the ATM, and then going in for a haircut. And finally I suppose the fact that the last three US Presidents have all smoked pot (illegally too, mind you) is neither here-nor-there, on the "losers and thugs" front; since you could easily make the argument either way, for our past three CIA-sponsored rulers. Of more concern to the Tyrant and usurper known as George W. Bush would be his massive Cocaine use (and likely smuggling, to boot), and well-publicized problems with Beast's drug-of-choice - Alcohol. In fact he famously almost choked to death on a pretzel, for LACK of a beer - if you buy the horseshit being sold by his administration at the time. (More savvy readers recognized this as likely Beast-level alcoholic black-out.) *The are almost no actually 'local' banks anymore - simply the local branches of multi-national conglomerate owned banks, held primarily by the people who really own the Beast's 'Amuhr-ica' - investors in the so-called Federal Reserve.
