Pedestrian Hit Crossing PCH near Temescal Canyon Road
The 30-year-old man is said to have been gravely injured. The driver takes off.
A pedestrian in his 30s suffered grave injuries tonight when he was struck in a crosswalk on Pacific Coast Highway in Pacific Palisades by a vehicle that left the scene, authorities said.
The man was airlifted in grave condition from the scene of the crash, which happened around 8 p.m. in the 16300 block of Pacific Coast Highway near Temescal Canyon Road, Katherine Main of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The man was in a crosswalk when he was struck by a southbound car, described as a silver Toyota Prius, model year 2000 or newer, said Officer Bruce Borihanh of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.

The driver of the Prius was described as a female with shoulder-length brown hair and wearing glasses and a yellow shirt.
Southbound Pacific Coast Highway was closed to traffic to accommodate the crash investigation, Borihanh said.
