Pali Teens Arrested at Illegal Brentwood Party

About a dozen young spring breakers are arrested after breaking into a Brentwood home to throw a party.

Many juveniles who attended a spring break party held at a home that was broken into Friday were Palisades Charter High School students, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The Los Angeles Times originally reported the party was held in Pacific Palisades, but Senior Lead Officer Michael Moore told Patch the address is actually in Brentwood.

Moore said many of the juveniles who attended the party go to school at Pali High but live in various Los Angeles areas, including Brentwood, the Palisades, Bel-Air and West L.A.

Police told the L.A. Times Sunday that a young man had let his friends know he and his family would be in Hawaii for spring break via a social media outlet. According to the report, the youth did not invite his friends over to his home.

While Moore could not confirm the teen posted his vacation status on a social media site, he did warn residents about posting "away" statuses online.

"You want people you trust to know you are away because they can keep an eye out on things (collect the mail, etc.)," Moore told Pali Patch in an email. "But you don't want everyone to know, so posting such info would be a bad idea."

The L.A. Times reported items like laptop computers and sound equipment were stolen from the Brentwood home.

Police say 11 juveniles and two young adults were arrested following an investigation.
