Pacific Palisades Police Blotter: Residential Burglaries Rise, 14-Year-Old Arrested For Battery

In this week's crime roundup, there is an increase in residential burglary and a 14-year-old is arrested after pushing her mother to the ground.

The following crimes were reported between Jan. 29-Feb. 4. The information was provided by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Burglary/Theft From Motor Vehicle

200 block of Amalfi Dr.

  • When: Between Jan. 24 at 8 p.m. and Jan. 25 at 8 a.m.
  • What happened: The suspect entered the victim's unlocked vehicle and took money.

Burglary

According to Senior Lead Officer Michael Moore, there was an unusual increase in residential burglary this week. He said residents can take action to avoid being a victim by way of the following tips:

  • Secure your home by locking doors and windows.
  • Set your alarm.
  • Leave a radio or television on.
  • Participate in a neighborhood watch program.

600 block of Las Casas Ave.

  • When: Between Jan. 28 at 5:30 p.m. and Jan. 30 at 7 a.m.
  • What happened: The suspect cut a lock to enter a home under construction and took a table saw.

15000 block of Altata Dr.

  • When: Feb. 1 between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect cut the glass on a window to enter the victim's home and took jewelry.

15000 block of Altata Dr.

  • When: Feb. 1 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect smashed a window to enter the victim's rear office and ransacked the location.

300 block of Paseo Miramar

  • When: Feb. 3 between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect entered the victim's home through an open window and took a portable safe.

500 block of Latimer Rd.

  • When: Feb. 3 between 11:45 a.m. and 7 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect entered the victim's home through an unlocked window and took jewelry.

16700 block of Livorno Dr.

  • When: Between Jan. 28 at 1 a.m. and Jan. 29 at 3 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect pried open a door to enter the victim's home and took a bicycle.

Grand Theft

17900 block of Castellammare Dr.

  • When: Between Jan. 15 at 10 p.m. and Jan. 16 at 11 a.m.
  • What happened: The suspect took jewelry from the victim's home.

16500 block of Sunset Blvd.

  • When: Between Feb. 2 at 9 a.m. and Feb. 3 at 12 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect entered the garage area of victim's home and took a bicycle.

Petty Theft

100 block of West Channel Rd.

  • When: Between Jan. 29 at 1 a.m. and Feb. 1 at 6:45 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect took the victim's bicycle which had been left at the location by the victim.

500 block of Palisades Dr.

  • When: Between Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. and Jan. 28 at 10 a.m.
  • What happened: The suspect took the victim's jewelry which was left at a business.

800 block of Swarthmore Ave.

  • When: Jan. 29 at 2 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect entered the victim's business, took clothing and toiletries and then exited the location without paying. The suspect was described by police as a 35- to 40-year-old Hispanic man with brown hair, brown eyes, was 5'10" tall and weighed 180 pounds. The suspect had a scar on his abdomen, according to police.

Battery

1600 block of Michael Ln.

  • When: Feb. 2 at 10:30 p.m.
  • What happened: A 14-year-old female was arrested for battery after pushing her mother to the ground and threatening to strangle her mother.
