Pacific Palisades Police Blotter: July 4 DUI Checkpoint Leads to Arrests

Here are the crimes reported in Pacific Palisades from July 3-10. This information is provided by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Burglaries/Thefts From Vehicles

Coastline Dr. at Pacific Coast Hwy.

• When: Between July 3 at 8 p.m. and July 4 at 9:30 a.m.
• What happened: The suspect took the rear license plate from the victim’s vehicle.

Temescal Canyon Rd. at Pacific Coast Hwy.

• When: July 8 between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
• What happened: The suspect reached into the victim’s unlocked vehicle and released the trunk lock. The suspect removed the victim’s purse, money and cellphone from the trunk.

800 block of Haverford Ave.

• When: Between July 8 at 1 a.m. and July 9 at 8:30 p.m.
• What happened: The suspect took an iPod and another item from the victim’s vehicle.

17300 block of Sunset Blvd.

• When: July 9 between 9:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.

• What happened: The suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and took money, a watch and an iPad.

Stolen Vehicles

800 block of Hartzell St.

• When: Between Feb. 25 at 4 p.m. and July 6 at 2:30 p.m.

• What happened: The suspect took the victim’s jet ski and trailer from a driveway.

700 block of Wildomar St.

• When: Between July 1 at 7:30 a.m. and July 5 at 7:45 p.m.
• What happened: The suspect took the victim’s vehicle from the driveway.

Vandalism

15300 block of Sunset Blvd.

• When: June 28 between 12:05 p.m. and 12:10 p.m.
• What happened: The suspect slashed the tires on a parking enforcement vehicle.

17300 block of Tramonto Dr.

• When: Between July 5 at 6 p.m. and July 6 at 7 a.m.
• What happened: The suspect scratched the paint on the victim’s vehicle.

Arrests/Citations

Temescal Canyon at Pacific Coast Hwy.

• When: July 4 at 6:14 p.m.
• What happened: A 29-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of DUI after being stopped at a checkpoint.

Temescal Canyon Rd. at Pacific Coast Hwy.

• When: July 4 at 7:10 p.m.
• What happened: A 23-year-old female was arrested on suspicion of DUI after being stopped at a checkpoint.

Temescal Canyon Rd. at Pacific Coast Hwy.

• When: July 4 at 9:25 p.m.
• What happened: A 36-year-old female was arrested on suspicion of DUI after being stopped at a checkpoint.

Temescal Canyon Rd. at Bowdoin St.

• When: July 4 at 9:25 p.m.
• What happened: A 49-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of DUI after being involved in a traffic collision. 

Other Crimes

Temescal Canyon Rd. at Pacific Coast Hwy.

• When: July 10 between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
• What happened: The suspect broke the victim’s bike lock and took the victim’s bicycle.
