Pacific Palisades Police Blotter: DUI, Stolen Handgun and Petty Theft

The following arrests and reports were supplied by the West Los Angeles Division of the LAPD. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

DUI

A 20-year-old man was arrested at 4:30 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 5 at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Marquez Place. He was charged with driving under the influence after allegedly being involved in a traffic collision, according to the .

Petty theft

A 53-year-old man was arrested at 3 p.m., Friday, Aug. 3, at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Via De La Paz. He was charged with petty theft after reportedly taking property from a business and leaving without paying for the property.

Stolen handgun and money

Between 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. on July 31 in the 1200 block of Bienveneda Avenue, the suspect allegedly climbed onto the roof of the victim's home, dropped down into the atrium and forced open a sliding screen door to enter the home. The suspect took money and a handgun. 

Vehicle and home burglaries

  • Between 8 p.m. on Aug. 4 and 12:15 a.m. on Aug. 5 in the 17000 block on Sunset Boulevard, the suspect pried open the door to enter the victim's home and took jewelry and a briefcase.
  • At 1 a.m. on Aug. 2 in the 500 block of Chapala Drive, the suspect pried a screen off a window on a victim's home but reportedly fled when a light was turned on inside the home.
  • Between 11:45 a.m. on Aug. 1 and 8:15 a.m. on Aug. 2 in the 15300 block of Allbright Street, the suspect reportedly entered the victim's vehicle and took an iPod.
  • Between 8 p.m. on Aug. 1 and 7:45 a.m. on Aug. 2 in the 1500 block of Allbright Street, the suspect entered the victim's unlocked vehicle and a gift card and keys.
  • Between 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 4 and 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 5 in the 800 block on Haverford Avenue, the suspect entered the victim's vehicle and took money, keys and a wallet.
  • Between 5 p.m. on Aug. 4 and 12:15 p.m. on Aug. 5 in the 15500 block of Sunset Boulevard, the suspect enterd the victim's unlocked vehicle and took money, a laptop and an iPod.

Vandalism on Hartzell Street

  • Between 11 p.m. on July 30 and 7 a.m. on July 31 in the 700 block of Hartzell Street, the suspect broke a piece of wood connected to the victim's lawn display.
  • At 12:50 a.m. on Aug. 3 in the 700 block of Hartzell Street, the suspects - described as white men - tore down signs on the victim's front lawn.
  • At 12:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 3 in the 700 block of Hartzell Street, the suspect reportedly cut down a sign on the victim's front lawn.

House egged

Between 12 and 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4 in the 900 block of Illif Street, the suspect - described as a white man, 5'10'' and between the ages of 15 and 18 - threw eggs at the victim's home, causing permanent damage.

Vandalism

  • Between 7 p.m. on July 30 and 6:30 a.m. on July 31 in the 1100 block of Chautaqua Boulevard, the suspect smashed a light on the border of the victim's driveway.
  • Between 1 and 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 3 in the 900 block of Via De La Paz, the suspect allegedly scratched the paint on the victim's vehicle.
  • Between 7 p.m. on Aug. 2 and 7 a.m. on Aug. 3 in the 700 block of Swarthmore Avenue, the suspect scratched the paint on the victim's vehicle.
  • Between 10 p.m. on July 14 and 4:30 a.m. on July 15 in the 16300 block of Pacific Coast Highway, the suspect damaged a metal gate on the victim's property.
  • At 12:17 a.m. on July 30 in the 500 block of Los Liones Drive, the suspect smashed a glass door at the victim's church.

Trespass and no answer

At 2:45 p.m. on July 31 in the 800 block of Bienveneda Avenue, the suspect - a white man, brown hair, 180 pounds, 5'8'' and between the ages of 30 to 40 - kncoked on the front door of the victim's home and then yelled at the victim when she did not answer the door.
