Pacific Palisades Police Blotter: Burglar Enters Home Through Dog Door

In this week's crime roundup, police say a burglar enters a home through a dog door to take jewelry.

The following crimes were reported between May 6 and May 12. The information was provided by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Burglary/Theft From Motor Vehicle

Temescal Canyon Road at Sunset Boulevard

  • When: May 8 between 11 a.m. and 12:40 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect smashed a window on the victim's vehicle and took a cellphone.

15800 block of Seabec Cir.

  • When: Between May 4 at 1 p.m. and May 7 at 2:15 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect entered the victim's home through a dog door and took jewelry.

600 block of Baylor St.

  • When: May 9 between 12:10 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect entered the victim's home and took a laptop computer and money.

300 block of Amalfi Dr.

  • When: May 10 between 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect entered the victim's garage and took the victim's purse, wallet and money.

Petty Theft

900 block of Corsica Dr.

  • When: May 10 between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect took the victim's purse, money and phone from the victim's driveway.

1400 block of Allenford Ave.

  • When: May 8 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect took the victim's unattended backpack from a cafeteria table.

600 block of Hampden Pl.

  • When: Between May 9 at 5 p.m. and May 10 at 5 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect took the victim's bicycle from the victim's backyard.

15400 block of Sunset Blvd.

  • When: May 3 at 10:50 a.m.
  • What happened: Two suspects offered to fix a dent on the victim's vehicle. The suspects took the victim's money and fled without fixing the dent. The first suspect were described by police as a 37- to 40-year-old man with black hair, 5'4" tall and weighed 200 pounds. The second suspect was described by police as a 35- to 40-year-old man with black hair, 6' tall and weighed 180 pounds.

Vandalism

17700 block of Porto Marina Way

  • When: May 12 between 3 a.m. and 1 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect scratched the victim's vehicle with a key.

100 block of Ocean Way

  • When: May 2 between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.
  • What happened: The suspect cut down a tree in the victim's yard.

Battery

Sunset Boulevard at Pacific Coast Highway

  • When: May 7 at 5 p.m.
  • What happened: A 30-year-old male was arrested for battery after pushing the victim with both hands.

DUI

400 block of Entrada Dr.

  • When: May 9 at 7:30 p.m.
  • What happened: A 71-year-old male was arrested for DUI after being involved in a traffic collision.
