New Ambulance Arrives at Pali's Fire Station 23

"Rescue 23" replaces an ambulance that has been with the station for approximately 5 years.

Firefighters at in Pacific Palisades said goodbye to an old friend and welcomed in a new member of the team this week. A brand new ambulance arrived Thursday, complete with new technology and that sought-after "new car smell."

The old ambulance left the station for a shop downtown earlier that day. It had been with the station for about 5 years and even weathered a head-on collision 2 years ago.

The brand new "Rescue 23" is equipped with new computers, radio and even "kneels" to help patients with minor injuries get out of the ambulance easier. It also helps firefighters wheel the stretcher out in a much smoother fashion.

While Pali Patch was at the station taking photos, there were a few folks who stopped by to admire the new equipment.
