Updated: Motorist Hospitalized After Morning Hit-and-Run in Pacific Palisades

The driver attempted to flee the scene, according to authorities.

A driver was taken to the hospital after trying to leave the scene of a hit-and-run Tuesday morning, according to information from Palisades Patrol.

Two damaged vehicles in the 2100 block of Westridge Road caused one resident to report the incident, which was also witnessed by an officer conducting a routine patrol in the area around 9 a.m., according to e-mailed information from Palisades Patrol.

In a e-mailed account of the incident, the patrol officer noted that he saw an Audi "rammed up" against a pair of parked vehicles. The driver of the Audi stumbled out of his car and told the officer that he needed to make a doctor's appointment. The officer told the driver not to leave the scene, but the driver then climbed back into his car and drove off, heading southbound on Westridge toward Mandeville Canyon before eventually pulling over, according to the patrol officer.
