Mercedes Collides With Dump Truck in Pacific Palisades

Drivers report no injuries and traffic is backed up for nearly an hour near intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Chautauqua.

Traffic was delayed for nearly an hour in Pacific Palisades Tuesday afternoon after a Mercedes Benz collided with a dump truck. Neither driver was reported injured nor transported to a nearby hospital, according to Palisades Patrol.

Around 12:50 p.m., a Mercedes Benz being driven westbound on Sunset Boulevard by a woman attempted to make a left turn onto Chautauqua Boulevard and collided with a dump truck being driven eastbound on Sunset, according to Pali Patrol CEO Scott Wagenseller. The dump truck reportedly collided with the front end of the Mercedes, causing significant damage.

Wagenseller said neither driver reported injuries and no one was taken to the hospital. The Mercedes was towed away and the dump truck continued working with visible minor cosmetic damage to the front bumper.

Traffic was only slightly delayed as #1 lane was closed in both directions of Sunset Boulevard for about 45 minutes, Wagenseller said. Cars were able to pass in the slow lane.

The scene was cleaned up within 30 minutes.  Palisades Patrol assisted with traffic control while Los Angeles Fire Department 69 assessed the drivers.
