UPDATE: Man Criticially Injured in Apparent Pacific Palisades Hit-and-Run Accident Identified

The injured man, in his 20s, was found in the bushes at 3:20 a.m. and transported to the hospital. His current condition is unknown at this time.

An apparent hit-and-run victim in his 20s was found critically injured Friday morning in Pacific Palisades, police said.

The injured man was found in the bushes on the side of the road at 920 Chautauqua Blvd., just west of Sunset Boulevard, around 3:20 a.m., said Officer J. Barrientos of the Los Angeles Police Department's West Traffic Division.

Friends identified him as 23-year-old David Pregerson.

"He was in critical condition when he was found," Barrientos said. "We don't yet have any information on what happened, but we are investigating it as an apparent felony hit-and-run accident."

Pregerson was transported to a hospital, where he underwent into surgery, Barrientos said.

"We haven't been able to talk to him yet and we don't yet know if he is going to make it," he said.

Friends told ABC7 that Pregerson is a filmmaker who recently graduated from UCLA.
